Book detailing the Roman antiquities and artifacts in the Museum at Chesters Northumberland. 432 pages of very informative text accompanied by many photographs, drawings and maps. Book is overall bright and clean just some small ink spots to outer edges of pages not inside, light foxing to front endpaper and rear endpapers plus the first page after each but not in the rest of the book. Rear endpaper has been repaired at hinge and is now sound, outer covers are browned on paper covering the boards and rubbed and worn on edges, gold lettering a little dulled. Neat ink details of previous owner on front endpaper John Gardner famous British Composer. The magazines are from number 111 (no 6 Vol III) to number 148 (no 43 VolIII) February 11 1911 to October 28 1911 the missing numbers are 119, 121 to 135, 145, 146 and 147. The magazines are in overall nice condition with usual browning to edges of pages due to quality of paper used, some pages have small losses to blank margins not affecting text or illustrations, a few have neat repairs to margins with clear tape, these are very few. Outer boards are a little worn on edges and sides of spine at top with 3 inch split to top front of spine, the binding is still sound.
